Why A Cavapoo?
Why choose a Cavapoo? We can share why we fell in love with this wonderful breed! When our kids were born we wanted a small dog that we could trust to be in the house with them and interact but not be too energetic to knock them over and the Cavalier was for us the first choice for us because of their amazing personalities. However when it comes to allergies and dog hair that sheds. The Cavalier may not be an option for all families. That is where the Cavapoo becomes the perfect fit, they still retain the fantastic temperament traits of the Cavalier making them a great family pet but also inherit the amazing hypoalergic nonshed coat from the poodle. For this reason the Cavapoo is the ideal family pet.
Additional Cavapoo Info
Cavapoo - a mix between a poodle and a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Cavapoos are popular because of their incredibly loving temperaments, low shedding coats, hypoallergenic features, and health. Cavapoo puppies are wonderful with children; they seldom meet strangers and love being with people. They are some of the most calm of all doodle varieties. They seldom bark, and they love to cuddle.
Cavapoo Personalities
Cavaliers are known for being loving, gentle, and loyal. They are very social and are well-known to be lap dogs. That personality often comes over into the Cavapoo. Miniature Poodles are more energetic and outgoing. They are also loving and make great watchdogs. Miniature Poodles are ranked one the healthiest breeds in the world, living many times over 16 years of age, and also ranked as the 2nd most intelligent dog breed in the world.
With this combination, the Cavapoos have incredible personalities. They are loving, trusting, intelligent and dependent. They want to be with you and are not a breed that’s known for aggression. They are extremely good with children and are very patient. They seldom bark, and they love to cuddle.

Cavapoo Maintenance
Maintenance for a Cavapoo will depend on the exact type of coat that the dog has. The Cavalier tends to shed more than Poodles, so a Cavapoo will be either low to non-shedding depending on whether it inherited its coat from the Cavalier side or the Poodle side. For the most part, the Cavapoo will require brushing on a weekly basis in order to ensure the coat remains free from knots and snags. Their coats do tend to tangle rather easily. A Cavapoo with a Poodle coat may need to be brushed more frequently. In addition, the toenails of the Cavapoo will need to be filed or clipped on a regular basis. Several times per year, the coat of the Cavapoo will need to be trimmed.
